How Faith Comes - Teachings

 How Faith Comes

In the same way, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17).

The apostle Paul gives us a heavenly way to increase our faith. This heavenly growing belief system is God's solution to our faith problem. Whether you are struggling to believe in God's Word or contemplating how to build your faith, this prayer will be a revelation for your next level of faith.

Before explaining how faith comes, let’s briefly review the current state of the beliefs of most Christians. As a believer and pastor, through personal struggles and ministry to other believers, I have come to know that we have faith problems. This crisis of faith is paradoxical. Believers struggle to believe. Faith also remains a mystery in the hearts of many believers.

Nevertheless, it remains the basis of our relationship with God and of the Christian's daily life. Therefore, we must overcome all obstacles and grow in the course of faith. Knowing how faith comes to us is the beginning of faith growth. Romans 10:17 says, “Faith comes by hearing.” First, it becomes the foundation upon which faith is born. We can gain or strengthen our faith. Therefore, when we find ourselves unfaithful or having little faith in any situation, this verse shows that faith can come to us. And we go further to show how that happens.

Faith comes from hearing the Word of God (or Christ as in the Greek text). The key terms are “hearing” and “the word of Christ.” Faith comes from hearing, not just reading. It is the voice of God in the Word that awakens faith. Hearing God's voice is a central New Testament concept, and I have written many articles about it. His voice is not necessarily an audible sound, but the breath of the Holy Spirit in the heart of a man who in the present breathes life into the Word of God. You can hear His voice while reading the Bible or listening to a sermon. It is the voice of God in the Word we read or hear that brings faith. Therefore, hearing the voice of God is the cornerstone of gaining or growing faith.

The Goodness of God - Daily Devotional

Verse: Psalm 100:5 (NIV) - "For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Devotional: Today, let us reflect on the profound truth that God is good. His goodness is not contingent on our circumstances, but it remains constant, unwavering, and eternal. In Psalm 100:5, we are reminded that the Lord's goodness is inseparable from His enduring love, and His faithfulness transcends generations. As you begin your day, consider the goodness of God in the light of your own life. Think about the moments when His goodness has been evident, whether through answered prayers, unexpected blessings, or moments of divine guidance. God's goodness surrounds us, and even in challenges, there is a purpose that unfolds through His love. In times of joy, acknowledge the goodness of God with gratitude. In times of trial, trust in His goodness, knowing that He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Take a ...

Are You Being Led by the Spirit?: Daily Devotional

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Romans 8:14 (KJV) Being led by the Spirit of God depends on knowing the voice of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is a person, meaning that He is a divine personality having the attributes of a person. Therefore, He speaks, sees, feels, and expresses feelings as we do (John 16:13-14). He only speaks the Word of God, so it's easy to hear his voice as you meditate on the scriptures daily. Constantly feeding on God's Word and meditating on it daily builds your heart and makes it easier for you to listen to  when He speaks to you. When he speaks, you will feel it in your spirit and know that he is speaking to you; it is an experience that can be confirmed with the Word of God. Knowing how to be led by the Spirit is part of maturity, and God wants each of His children to be led by His Spirit. If you are led by the Spirit of God you will not be disappointed; You will always experience peace, joy, prosperity and vi...

A LIFE OF PEACE: Daily Devotional

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace - (Romans 8:6). Don't you just love the scriptures? Remember what we just read: It is said that if you have a carnal spirit, it will lead you to death. But if you have a spiritual mind, you will have life and peace. Easy writing; but absolutely profound! So take a look at your life; Do you live a hectic life? Is your life without peace? When people are nervous, distressed, disturbed and confused, it is because they don't have a spiritual mindset. The word is clear: if you have a spiritual mind, you will have life and peace. A spiritual or carnal mind is about the work of your mind, where you focus your attention. Carnally minded people only react to the things of this world; they are ruled by the flesh. Your focus should always be on the Word of God and the eternal realities of the Kingdom. In this way, in the midst of trouble and chaos, you will always have peace, a life without turmoil! I...
