Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints (Ephesians 6:18).
Prayer always means being in constant communication and communion with the Lord; it's always going on. This is what the Lord directs us to do; He wants us to communicate with him at all times. It is a continuous communication of spiritual intelligence, giving us constant information to give us an advantage.
The Amplified Classical version of our opening verse reads, "Pray at all times (on all occasions). ) , at all times) in the spirit, with every [kind of] prayer and supplication…”. Praying in the Spirit therefore becomes an accompaniment to all other types of prayer.
Whether it is the prayer of faith, the prayer of intercession, whatever the type of prayer, praying in the Spirit should be a part of it.
In 1 Corinthians 14 :14- 15 Paul said, “For when I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is barren. So what is it? I will pray with the spirit and I will also pray with the mind; I will sing with the spirit and I will also sing with the mind.” This shows that praying in the spirit is a priority.
The Spirit will tell you what words to use. Your tongue will be poised and inspired to say the right things.
When you step outside to win souls, you may not immediately know what you are going to say, but pray first in the Spirit and He will give you the right words. You will say things that are in harmony with His divine purpose because you will be in timely communication with Him through the Spirit.
Remember what Jesus said in Matthew 10:19-20: “ But when you deliver
, don't worry about how or what to speak, because at that very hour what to speak will be given to you.
Because it is not you who speak, but the spirit of your father who speaks within you.” Hallelujah! Therefore, make it a habit to always pray in the spirit and with the spirit.
