God's Grace and Mercy - Daily Devotional

God's Grace and Mercy - Daily Devotional

Bible Verse: "But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved." - Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV)

God's grace and mercy are at the very core of the Christian faith. Grace is God's unmerited favor towards us, and mercy is God's compassion and forgiveness towards us even though we deserve punishment for our sins.

As Christians, we have experienced God's grace and mercy in our lives. We were dead in our sins and separated from God, but because of His love for us, He made us alive in Christ. This is not something we could have earned or deserved, but it is a gift freely given by God.

When we realize the depth of our own sin and the magnitude of God's grace and mercy towards us, it should lead us to a place of humility and gratitude. We should be thankful for the salvation we have received through Christ and strive to live our lives in a way that honors Him.

We are also called to extend grace and mercy to others, just as God has extended it to us. This can be difficult at times, especially when we feel wronged or hurt by others. But when we remember how much we have been forgiven, it can help us to extend forgiveness and compassion to those around us.

As we go through our day today, let us remember the amazing gift of God's grace and mercy that we have received through Christ. Let us be thankful for it and seek to extend it to others as well.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for your amazing grace and mercy towards me. Help me to live my life in a way that honors you, and to extend grace and mercy to those around me. Amen.

HIS NAME HAS POWER IN
ALL THREE WORLDS: Daily Devotional

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is  above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things  in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth - (Philippians 2:9-10). If Jesus really did give us the legal right, that is, authority, to use His name, what results should we expect from using His name? What is so important about the name of Jesus? What does His name represent and why should we have so much faith in Jesus' name? We have the answer in our first scripture. Notice the construction; is absolute. It says, "At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow"; that is a sovereign decision, a law in the realm of the spirit. Hallelujah! This sovereign decree applies in heaven, on earth and under the earth (in hell). His name has power in the three worlds; this power is applied to "things," that is, everything that exists in the three worlds; be it thrones, governments, galaxies, principalities, pow...

STAND STILL: Daily Devotional

“Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. . . You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.” -  2 Chronicles 20:15, 17 INSPIRATION When King Jehoshaphat and the little tribe of Judah were besieged on all fronts by three powerful and bloody armies advancing rapidly towards Jerusalem (2 Chron. 20), the king began to seek the Lord and pray with hope before the entire congregation of Judah. This is when the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel, who spoke the words of the Lord which we read in today's Scripture. When Judah heard these words of hope, he humbled himself before the Lord, bowing to him and worshipping him....
