Partakers of the divine nature: Daily Devotional

Partakers of the divine nature: Daily Devotional

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. -  2 Peter 1:4

Of course, participating in divine nature does not mean becoming a god. You can't. The essence of God is not that the creation participates in him. There must always be, in essence, an impassable abyss between the creature and the Creator.

However, just as the first man, Adam, was created in the image of God, so we too, being renewed by the Holy Spirit, are created in a more divine sense in the image of the Highest, so that we participate in the divine nature.

We are made like God by grace. "God is love"; we become love “The one who loves is the one who is born of God.” God is truth. We love what is true and true. God is good, and by his grace he has made us good  so that we can see God with a pure heart. Moreover, we become partakers of the divine nature in  a much higher sense than this, namely, as high as we can imagine, except that we are divine.

Are we not  members of the body of the divine person of Christ? That's right. The same blood that flows from the head flows into the hands, and the same life that gives Christ lives his people. For "You are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God." No, as if that was not enough, we are married to Christ.

He has betrothed us to Himself in righteousness and faithfulness, and he who is united to the Lord is one spirit. Ouch! Awesome riddle! We will get into it, but who will understand it? Because we are one with Jesus and one with Him,  the branch is not attached to the vine, but  part of our Savior and Redeemer! Rejoice and remember this.

Those who share the divine nature will show nobility and holiness in their fellowship with others, and through their fellowship through their daily activities and desires, they will show that they have avoided corruption in the world. Oh, for the greater divine holiness of life!

What are the 5 ways of knowing God? - Bible Teachings

Sure, I'd be happy to provide you with some Bible teachings on the topic of knowing God. There are various ways through which we can know God, and here are five of them explained in detail with relevant Bible verses: Through Creation: The natural world around us reveals the glory and power of God. Bible Verse: Psalm 19:1 - "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Through His Word (Scripture): The Bible is God's written revelation of Himself and His will. Bible Verse: 2 Timothy 3:16 - "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness." Through Prayer: Communicating with God and seeking His presence helps us know Him intimately. Bible Verse: Philippians 4:6-7 - "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, wi...

With God All Things Are Possible - Daily Devotional

Bible Verse: Matthew 19:26 (NIV) - "Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" In our journey of faith, we often encounter situations and challenges that seem insurmountable. We may face overwhelming circumstances, difficult decisions, or personal struggles that leave us feeling helpless and discouraged. However, as Christians, we are reminded of the powerful truth found in Matthew 19:26, where Jesus assures us that with God, all things are possible. This verse serves as a beautiful reminder that we are not alone in our trials. We serve a God who is mighty, capable, and faithful. His power knows no bounds, and He is able to do far more than we could ever imagine. It is easy for us to lose sight of this truth when we are faced with obstacles, but the Lord invites us to trust Him and lean on His strength. One of the ways we can apply this verse in our daily lives is by cultivating an attitude of surrender and d...

A Good Shepherd - Daily Devotional

Bible Verse: Psalm 23:1 (NIV) - "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing." As believers in Christ, we have the privilege of being led by the ultimate Good Shepherd, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The analogy of a shepherd and his sheep is a powerful and comforting image used throughout the Bible to depict the relationship between God and His people. Today, let us reflect on Psalm 23:1 and explore how we can apply the qualities of a Good Shepherd in our lives as Christians. The verse begins with a profound declaration: "The Lord is my shepherd." This simple statement encapsulates the essence of our faith. We acknowledge God as our Shepherd, recognizing His authority, provision, guidance, and protection over our lives. It signifies our willingness to submit to His leading and trust in His care. Just as sheep depend on their shepherd for sustenance and guidance, we can rely on God to meet our needs and direct our paths. "I lack nothing." These words spea...
