What is prayer? : Teachings

What is prayer?

Prayer is the practice of God's presence. It is a place where pride is cast aside, hope is roused, and supplication is offered. Prayer is where we acknowledge our needs, embrace humility, and assert our dependence on God. Prayer is a necessary Christian practice. Prayer is the  practice  of faith and hope. Prayer is a privilege to touch the heart of the Father through the Son of God,  our Lord Jesus.

The Bible says a lot about prayer. However, we often ignore prayer and try to achieve what we  have or want to achieve through our willpower. Having sinned many times before, we must get down on our knees, confess our sins, receive God's forgiveness, and ask that His will  be done rather than our own. God is sovereign and loving, and he knows what's best for us and others, even when it doesn't always  make the most sense.

We  often come to the Lord with legitimate requests for healing, conversion, need, but often the answers we want do not come. But we persevere and praise God. We pray and want to see results because we know  God is listening to us. We should pray in faith and trust God. We should pray consistently and trust God. We should pray for healing and trust God. We should pray for others and trust God. We should pray, and remember that whether our prayers are answered or not, knowing what the Lord knows will not change anything.

Prayer transforms the worshiper. Because in prayer you are in God's presence. Because you confess and reveal all of yourself in dependence on God. There's nothing to hide when you reach out in silent prayer

Get in touch with the deepest part of yourself and acknowledge your needs and shortcomings. This calms us down and takes away our  pride  and we enjoy it

presence of God. James 4:8 says, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."

Prayer has another benefit: peace. In all things make your requests known to God in  prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving. hearts and  minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

I believe that  our prayer life and our dependence on God will be tested by our peace  of mind. In all things we must seek the Lord and  His constant presence. Peace is indeed in our interests.

Prayer is the practice of God's presence.

The Goodness of God - Daily Devotional

Verse: Psalm 100:5 (NIV) - "For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Devotional: Today, let us reflect on the profound truth that God is good. His goodness is not contingent on our circumstances, but it remains constant, unwavering, and eternal. In Psalm 100:5, we are reminded that the Lord's goodness is inseparable from His enduring love, and His faithfulness transcends generations. As you begin your day, consider the goodness of God in the light of your own life. Think about the moments when His goodness has been evident, whether through answered prayers, unexpected blessings, or moments of divine guidance. God's goodness surrounds us, and even in challenges, there is a purpose that unfolds through His love. In times of joy, acknowledge the goodness of God with gratitude. In times of trial, trust in His goodness, knowing that He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Take a ...

HIS NAME HAS POWER IN
ALL THREE WORLDS: Daily Devotional

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is  above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things  in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth - (Philippians 2:9-10). If Jesus really did give us the legal right, that is, authority, to use His name, what results should we expect from using His name? What is so important about the name of Jesus? What does His name represent and why should we have so much faith in Jesus' name? We have the answer in our first scripture. Notice the construction; is absolute. It says, "At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow"; that is a sovereign decision, a law in the realm of the spirit. Hallelujah! This sovereign decree applies in heaven, on earth and under the earth (in hell). His name has power in the three worlds; this power is applied to "things," that is, everything that exists in the three worlds; be it thrones, governments, galaxies, principalities, pow...

Trust in the Lord with All Thine Heart: Daily Devotional

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  (Proverbs 3:5 KJV) - INSPIRATION - Why has God commanded us not to rely on our own understanding, but to trust Him wholeheartedly? The answer is simple. “ There is a way which seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it is the way of death. ” (Proverbs 14:12 AMPC) Are there any of us who haven't suffered the consequences of making a wrong decision? Remember, there are things we are    sure of before deciding what to do. But when a choice is made and the verdict of the outcome is in front of you, the outcome can bite like a viper or stink like a rotten egg. That is why the Lord commands us to trust    Him to save us from ourselves. Trusting the Lord means relying on, trusting, or relying on His wisdom to guide us in life. When we trust    Him, we try to understand what He is saying and use His words and wisdom to guide our lives. An ...
