I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death (Revelation 1:18).
After Adam's disobedience, the Bible came that death came upon all men: “Therefore sin came into the world through man, and death through sin; and so death came to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12). Death was associated with sin, and when Adam committed treason in the Garden of Eden by obeying Satan, death began to affect every human being.
Satan gained freedom from the plague of man with sickness and infirmity. , destruction and eventual death at his will. But when Jesus came in
, things changed. Men and women who had been held captive by the fear of death all their lives were delivered through Jesus Christ's victory over death and grave (Hebrews 2:14-15).
Jesus went straight to Hell, Satan's kingdom, paralyzed Satan and his minions and obtained the keys of death and Hell! He faced the problem of death when he rose triumphantly from the dead and led man to a new life.
Today, anyone who has been born again need not fear death, for death was created by Jesus defeated. No wonder the Bible says at 1 Corinthians 15:54-57: “...Death is swallowed up in victory. Oh death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is your victory? The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
He gave us victory over death and the grave. Today Satan can no longer take life from anyone because he no longer has the power of death.
Christ gave us life to live it fully. In his presence there is joy in abundance and joy at his right hand forever: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
I have come that they may have life and enjoy it and have it in abundance (too full until it overflows)" (John 10:10 AMPC).
