STAND STILL: Daily Devotional

“Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s. . . You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you.”2 Chronicles 20:15, 17

INSPIRATION

When King Jehoshaphat and the little tribe of Judah were besieged on all fronts by three powerful and bloody armies advancing rapidly towards Jerusalem (2 Chron. 20), the king began to seek the Lord and pray with hope before the entire congregation of Judah. This is when the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel, who spoke the words of the Lord which we read in today's Scripture. When Judah heard these words of hope, he humbled himself before the Lord, bowing to him and worshipping him.

Today the Lord speaks the same words to you in your circumstances. Look to Him, because He loves you! You should not live in fear and discouragement when you know that the fight is not yours, but that of the Lord. Remain still and see God's salvation. The battle is up to Him, and you don't have to fight in it.

What do you do if you have no idea what to do? It's best to remain still. Remain still and see God's salvation in your situation.

But Reverend Kingsford, if I don't move, nothing will happen!

My friend, staying still is not idleness or doing nothing. It is an attitude of hope, and it implies keeping your hope anchored in the person of Jesus and having a sure and a trusting expectation of the good. When Pharaoh's marauded armies charged to the children of Israel, determined to destroy them, Moses simply declared to the terrified Israelites: "Do not be afraid. Keep still, and see the Lord's salvation" (Exodus. 14:13). The Hebrew language for salvation is Yeshua, which is in fact the name of Jesus. Salvation is therefore Jesus' person, and He is with you.

When you find yourself in a desperate situation, learn to position yourself – stand still and see the saving power of Jesus working in your name. He will neither leave you nor abandon you (Heb. 13:5). And while you concentrate, your thoughts, beliefs, and hopes on Him. He will guide you on what to do, just as He led Jehoshaphat to triumph over his enemies.

With God All Things Are Possible - Daily Devotional

Bible Verse: Matthew 19:26 (NIV) - "Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" In our journey of faith, we often encounter situations and challenges that seem insurmountable. We may face overwhelming circumstances, difficult decisions, or personal struggles that leave us feeling helpless and discouraged. However, as Christians, we are reminded of the powerful truth found in Matthew 19:26, where Jesus assures us that with God, all things are possible. This verse serves as a beautiful reminder that we are not alone in our trials. We serve a God who is mighty, capable, and faithful. His power knows no bounds, and He is able to do far more than we could ever imagine. It is easy for us to lose sight of this truth when we are faced with obstacles, but the Lord invites us to trust Him and lean on His strength. One of the ways we can apply this verse in our daily lives is by cultivating an attitude of surrender and d...

A Good Shepherd - Daily Devotional

Bible Verse: Psalm 23:1 (NIV) - "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing." As believers in Christ, we have the privilege of being led by the ultimate Good Shepherd, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The analogy of a shepherd and his sheep is a powerful and comforting image used throughout the Bible to depict the relationship between God and His people. Today, let us reflect on Psalm 23:1 and explore how we can apply the qualities of a Good Shepherd in our lives as Christians. The verse begins with a profound declaration: "The Lord is my shepherd." This simple statement encapsulates the essence of our faith. We acknowledge God as our Shepherd, recognizing His authority, provision, guidance, and protection over our lives. It signifies our willingness to submit to His leading and trust in His care. Just as sheep depend on their shepherd for sustenance and guidance, we can rely on God to meet our needs and direct our paths. "I lack nothing." These words spea...

The Key to Receiving!: Daily Devotional

“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24 (KJV) Using the right key will always open the door to blessings in your life. Jesus Christ has all the secrets to make life endless joy (John 8:12). The key to the effectiveness of your prayer is believing that you have received everything you asked for. When you have this awareness, prayer time always becomes a time of joy and celebration, knowing that your prayers have been answered. Beloved, before you stop praying, get the conviction that Your prayers have been answered. Keep believing that you have received it, give thanks and praise to God; Keep that attitude until you actually have it (Mark 9:23). Keep searching for the promises of God in Scripture, pray for them, keep believing that you have received them and will receive them. May your life be full of testimonies. Hallelujah! Be a winner! ©️Copyright 2022 The Prophet Kingsford Cudj...
