WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?: Daily Devotional

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?: Daily Devotional

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever (John 14:16 AMPC).

The Holy Spirit is not smoke or a cloud, nor is He a light. He's not a thing! The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. This is because He is the last of the Trinity known to us! In Genesis 1:1, God was introduced to us as “Elohim” (Hebrew).

"Elohim" is the Hebrew plural for God.

We are told in the second verse that "the Spirit of God hovered upon the face of the deep." Although the Holy Spirit is the first to be revealed from "Elohim", he is the last known to us because of what Jesus said to his disciples in John 14:16-17: "And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another comforter who will be with you forever; Even the spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it does not see him and does not know him, but you do know him; for he dwells with you and will be in you.” The Holy Spirit is just like Jesus. It receives no power from God.

Verily He is the POWER of God! He is the spirit of truth emanating from the Father. He is not inferior to the Father, nor is He inferior to Jesus. If you went to heaven, you would not find the Holy Spirit outside of the Father, for He is in the Father.

His presence is everywhere on earth!

Wherever you go as a child of God, the Holy Spirit accompanies you and His presence is contagious in all that is connected with you. He has no other name; “Holy Spirit” or “Holy Spirit” is a description of his person, his character.

Jesus said: “But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name …” (John 14:26). This simply implies that the Holy Spirit, while not having a proper name, responds to the name of Jesus. Oh, there are so many things to show about this amazing personality!

He is the Beauty of Heaven: our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Advocate, Strengthener and Supporter. Hallelujah!

Overflowing Blessings - Daily Devotional

Verse of the Day: Psalm 23:5 (NIV) "You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows." Devotional:   As Christians, we are recipients of God's overflowing blessings. Just as a cup overflows when filled to its brim, God's blessings pour into our lives abundantly. In Psalm 23, we see a vivid picture of God's provision and care. The verse reminds us that even in the midst of challenges and adversities, God prepares a table for us, symbolizing His constant provision and protection. God's blessings go beyond our needs. They overflow into every area of our lives—our relationships, work, health, and spiritual growth. But how can we position ourselves to receive these overflowing blessings? 1. Gratitude: Expressing gratitude for what we have opens the door for more blessings. When we appreciate the little things, God honors our thankful hearts. Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) "Give thanks in all circu...

WHAT THE SAVIOR ENDURED : Daily Devotional

His visage was marred more than any man, and His form more than the sons of men.   - Isaiah 52:14 Our Lord Jesus chose    bread and wine as    elements of the Lord's Supper. Because they are a visual reminder of what happened to him when he was crucified. Both grains and grapes have to go through a grinding process to get bread or wine. Just eating grapes doesn't make wine. The grapes must be crushed first    and then thoroughly crushed. Then they are    left in the dark for fermentation. This is what happened to our Lord Jesus. It is important for our health to discern the    body of the Lord. Take time each time you partake of his bruised body while eating bread. Receive a revelation of what He has done for you and meditate on the process the bread had to go through. In Jesus' day, in order to obtain bread, the wheat stalks    had to be beaten first (Judges 6:11 NASB) or threshed with a sledgehammer (Isaiah 41:15)...
