WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?: Daily Devotional

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?: Daily Devotional

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever (John 14:16 AMPC).

The Holy Spirit is not smoke or a cloud, nor is He a light. He's not a thing! The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. This is because He is the last of the Trinity known to us! In Genesis 1:1, God was introduced to us as “Elohim” (Hebrew).

"Elohim" is the Hebrew plural for God.

We are told in the second verse that "the Spirit of God hovered upon the face of the deep." Although the Holy Spirit is the first to be revealed from "Elohim", he is the last known to us because of what Jesus said to his disciples in John 14:16-17: "And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another comforter who will be with you forever; Even the spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it does not see him and does not know him, but you do know him; for he dwells with you and will be in you.” The Holy Spirit is just like Jesus. It receives no power from God.

Verily He is the POWER of God! He is the spirit of truth emanating from the Father. He is not inferior to the Father, nor is He inferior to Jesus. If you went to heaven, you would not find the Holy Spirit outside of the Father, for He is in the Father.

His presence is everywhere on earth!

Wherever you go as a child of God, the Holy Spirit accompanies you and His presence is contagious in all that is connected with you. He has no other name; “Holy Spirit” or “Holy Spirit” is a description of his person, his character.

Jesus said: “But the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name …” (John 14:26). This simply implies that the Holy Spirit, while not having a proper name, responds to the name of Jesus. Oh, there are so many things to show about this amazing personality!

He is the Beauty of Heaven: our Comforter, Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Advocate, Strengthener and Supporter. Hallelujah!

The Goodness of God - Daily Devotional

Verse: Psalm 100:5 (NIV) - "For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." Devotional: Today, let us reflect on the profound truth that God is good. His goodness is not contingent on our circumstances, but it remains constant, unwavering, and eternal. In Psalm 100:5, we are reminded that the Lord's goodness is inseparable from His enduring love, and His faithfulness transcends generations. As you begin your day, consider the goodness of God in the light of your own life. Think about the moments when His goodness has been evident, whether through answered prayers, unexpected blessings, or moments of divine guidance. God's goodness surrounds us, and even in challenges, there is a purpose that unfolds through His love. In times of joy, acknowledge the goodness of God with gratitude. In times of trial, trust in His goodness, knowing that He works all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Take a ...

We Are Not Alone - Daily Devotional

Bible Verse: Joshua 1:9 (NIV)  "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." As Christians, we are blessed with the assurance that we are never alone. Our faith teaches us that God is always present, guiding and protecting us throughout our journey. In times of joy and triumph, as well as in moments of fear and uncertainty, we can find solace in the knowledge that our Heavenly Father is by our side. The verse from Joshua 1:9 serves as a powerful reminder of God's unwavering presence in our lives. When Joshua was called to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land after the death of Moses, he faced immense challenges and daunting responsibilities. In the midst of his apprehension, God reassured Joshua of His presence and commanded him to be strong and courageous. This divine assurance was not merely a hollow promise; it was a guarantee of God's unwavering faithfu...
