HIS NAME HAS POWER IN
ALL THREE WORLDS: Daily Devotional

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is  above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things  in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth - (Philippians 2:9-10). If Jesus really did give us the legal right, that is, authority, to use His name, what results should we expect from using His name? What is so important about the name of Jesus? What does His name represent and why should we have so much faith in Jesus' name? We have the answer in our first scripture. Notice the construction; is absolute. It says, "At the name of Jesus every knee shall bow"; that is a sovereign decision, a law in the realm of the spirit. Hallelujah! This sovereign decree applies in heaven, on earth and under the earth (in hell). His name has power in the three worlds; this power is applied to "things," that is, everything that exists in the three worlds; be it thrones, governments, galaxies, principalities, pow

GROWING BY THE WORD: Daily Devotional

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby (1 Peter 2:2). Growth isn't a miracle and it shouldn't take a miracle; it is the result of the application of revealed principles and means. Growth is inherent in life; it is a natural course of life. Everything that has life grows; it is one of the characteristics that distinguish living things from inanimate ones. As a Christian, your spiritual growth is very important, and it is only through the Word that you can grow. The Word of God is food for the human spirit. 1. Peter 2:2 says, "As newborn children desire the pure milk of the word, that in it you may grow." The word of God builds you up and transforms your life from glory to glory. James 1:21 says, "...accept in gentleness the implanted word, which can save your souls." It's like natural seeds that can only grow properly if planted in the right environment. If you want to grow spiritually, you must expose your spiri

WHO IS THE HOLY SPIRIT?: Daily Devotional

  And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and  Standby), that He may remain with you forever (John 14:16 AMPC). The Holy Spirit is not smoke or a cloud, nor is He a light. He's not a thing! The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. This is because He is the last of the Trinity known to us! In Genesis 1:1, God was introduced to us as “Elohim” (Hebrew). "Elohim" is the Hebrew plural for God. We are told in the second verse that "the Spirit of God hovered upon the face of the deep." Although the Holy Spirit is the first to be revealed from "Elohim", he is the last known to us because of what Jesus said to his disciples in John 14:16-17: "And I will pray the Father, and he will give you another comforter who will be with you forever; Even the spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive because it does not see him and does not know him, but you do know him;

CONNECT WITH YOUR FAITH: Daily Devotional

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly  places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). The apostle Paul let us know in our opening verse that we have been blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ. He reinforces the idea at 1 Corinthians 3:21 when he says, "...all things are thine." Similarly, the apostle Peter tells us that "...the divine power hath given us all things of life and godliness..." (2 Peter 1:3 NIV). It is one thing to know that you have been blessed with and in all things, but it is quite another to actually own the blessings.  The key is to connect with your faith; this is what Abraham did. In Genesis 17:5 NIV God said to him: “…I have made you the father of many nations.” Abraham associated with his faith; it had to do with his mind's eye. The Bible says that Abraham believed God and it was credited to him for righteousness. He believed because he visualized the reality of h

FEEDING ON THE WORD: Daily Devotional

Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be  the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone,  but in fleshy tables of the heart - (2 Corinthians 3:2-3). In Christianity we emphasize the study and meditation of the Word of God for what it will bring about in your life: ever increasing glory! That's what your life is for. The glory of God is in the Word, and that glory will be more visible in your life as you consciously and consistently feed on the Word. The Bible says, “...don't be satisfied, old man, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind..." (Romans 12:2). 2 Corinthians 3:18 says: “Therefore we all  with open faces behold as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, and are changed from glory to glory into the same image as by the Spirit of the Lord . ” These verses emphasize the ever-increasing glory in our spirit as we s

YOUR CONFESSIONS RULE YOUR LIFE: Daily Devotional

I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely and in Him I [confidently] trust!  (Psalm 91:2 AMPC). Often we think of certain things that happened to some very "good" people and say, "If this could happen to such and such, what about me? That guy was better than me! Well, it has nothing to do with who is better than who. It has to do with your personal walk with the Lord and your faith in His Word. It has to do with your creeds. Bad things can happen to good people. Recall the anointed words of the psalmist that we read in our first passage of scripture. It was David's confession and it has to be your confession too. From time to time you say, “The Lord is my refuge and my stronghold; He is my God; In Him I lean and trust, and in Him I trust with confidence!" Learn the power and value of thinking well and speaking well.  If you think wrong, it will be reflected in your words. And if your words are wrong, things will go

PARTAKERS OF THE INHERITANCE: Daily Devotional

Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light (Colossians 1:12). How merciful and loving is the Lord! Think about what we just read in our opening verse: It's not a promise, it's something He's already done. He has qualified us to participate in the inheritance of the saints in the light. Ephesians 1:11 says we have received an inheritance in him. Part of that inheritance is described to us at Ephesians 3:8 (AMPC) as inscrutable riches: “...to make known to the Gentiles the inexhaustible (unbounded, unfathomable, incalculable, and inexhaustible) riches of Christ [riches that no man could attain] . wanted]. ” The whole world belongs to Jesus Christ; He bought the whole field. The Bible says that the earth and its fullness are of the Lord. Romans 8:17 says we are joint heirs with Him, so part of your inheritance is the whole world. This is the absolute truth of God's Word. 1 Corinthians 3:21-22 says: “..

GIVE ATTENTION TO THE ONE THING NEEDFUL: Daily Devotional

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not  be taken away from her - (Luke 10:42). There’re folks that get so over excited with their paintings and different sports that they lose recognition of what simply matters—the Word! They get so preoccupied withinside the many sports that they don’t have time to fellowship, observe and meditate at the Word. That’s wrong! The Word of God is your meals for lifestyles. 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, now no longer of corruptible seed, however of incorruptible, via way of means of the phrase of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” You have been born of the Word and may handiest be sustained via way of means of the Word. 1 Peter 2:2 says, “As new child babes, choice the honest milk of the phrase that ye may also develop thereby.” True and lasting fulfillment comes from aware meditation at the Word of God: “This Book of the Law shall now no longer leave from your mouth, however you shall meditate on it

OUR LEGAL AUTHORITY TO USE: Daily Devotional

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it (John 14:13-14). When we say that Jesus gave us authority to use His name, many don't understand what that means. The term "power of attorney" refers to a legal power of attorney that gives a specific person authority to act on your behalf. Therefore, it means that every request you make is as if Jesus were doing it, since you are doing it in His name. The apostle John said in some of his writings: vividly captures the words of Jesus further clarifying the legal authority of given to us in His name. For example, in John 14:13-14 Jesus said, "And whatever ye ask in my name I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son." If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.” Here the Lord was speaking of claiming His name. This is extraordinary. It's like what Paul tells us in Colossians 3:17: “And whatever y

YOU’RE ABOVE ALL THINGS: Daily Devotional

And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church (Ephesians 1:22). The Bible says that God put all things under Jesus' feet. This is such a powerful and profound truth. If all is under Jesus' feet, it means all is under the Church, which is his body. Jesus is the head; the Bible calls the church "the fullness of him" (Ephesians 1:23). This means that Jesus is incomplete without the Church in this world. It's like your physical body; Your head is up, then you have the rest of your body down to your feet. No matter where you stand or what you stand on, even the lowest part of your body, the tip of your toes, is above you. you stand or what you stand on. So when the Bible says that God put all things under the feet of Jesus and made him head over all things because of his body, the church hat, as a member of the Body of, means Christ, a Christian, whatever your role in the Body (the Church) or your place in the Body

A LIFE OF PEACE: Daily Devotional

For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace - (Romans 8:6). Don't you just love the scriptures? Remember what we just read: It is said that if you have a carnal spirit, it will lead you to death. But if you have a spiritual mind, you will have life and peace. Easy writing; but absolutely profound! So take a look at your life; Do you live a hectic life? Is your life without peace? When people are nervous, distressed, disturbed and confused, it is because they don't have a spiritual mindset. The word is clear: if you have a spiritual mind, you will have life and peace. A spiritual or carnal mind is about the work of your mind, where you focus your attention. Carnally minded people only react to the things of this world; they are ruled by the flesh. Your focus should always be on the Word of God and the eternal realities of the Kingdom. In this way, in the midst of trouble and chaos, you will always have peace, a life without turmoil! I
